Is there any good products in stores to keep a very oily face non oily for about 8 hours? Are there any home remedies? Something that won't interact with my makeup.

  1. yeahh!!!!

if you have a LUSH store in your area (they are usually in the mall somewhere, for example, i live in michigan and the lush store is in macy's)

if you don't have one near you, ill give you the website

its this soap/cleanser called coalface, and its made for oily skin. my cousin just bought it and it makes her face look really nice.

(i didn't buy it because my skin isn't oily)

but i use a product from there called "herbalism"..works so good

they also have alot of other nice products

they are all natural remedies, they won't hurt or burn your face like certain products in stores.

....search the website for other products you might like! trust me, their products are amazing, try it! good luck, hope i helped!

  2. Oily and combination skin need water based and not oil based products.

Cleansing, toning and moisturizing are the basic essentials of a good at home skin care routine.

-Choose a foamy, water based cleanser/face. (don't overuse) this is a common mistake that people with oily skin make. Over cleansing can make matters worse by irritating the skin, therefore producing more oil.

    - then choose an astringent/toner with a low alcohol content. This helps to removes excess oil from the skin.

-Then choose a moisturizer with sunscreen that is also water based.

These will keep the skin clean and balance your oiliness:)

P.S *With oily skin it is very important to exfoliate at least twice a week.

  3. try blotting sheets

you can get them at CVS and they work great and dont ruin your makeup

  4. Ok I have an idea, all we were ever told as kids to do whilst growing up by our Grandmother is to wash your face in luke warm salt water, pat dry, use a non-oily face moisturiser and this will eliminate the problem, it will take about 3 days to work.  I know it sounds odd, but we all did it (36 grandkids) and not one of us have ever suffered acne, nor do we have oily t-zones.

Also, I spoke to a Dermatologist and I am a Beauty Therapist and he said, he agreed with that but he also said the only 2 creams they ever recommend to patients is Oil of ulay + moisturiser by Mary Kay.

They have some ingredient (i forgot the name) that heals the skin without causing breakouts/oily t-zones/ and helps in the aide of new scar tissue.

I hope this has helped.  Good Luck.

    Minny :-)

Ps.  In one of those answers someone suggested rice paper, where you blot it on your face to get rid of the oily zones, and wont ruin your make up, they are actually lined with a chemical that will clot your pores and therefore will create pimples.

  5. What you need  is a  facial regime .

wash with a non deodorant soap (neutragena )

    dry

Moisturize with a moisturizer without any oil in it , and is designed for oily skin .

Also at least twice a week  make a mask with  whipped egg whites . and apply until dry . This helps soak up oil and close pores .

Also spritz a toner on after all is done .
