Remember "What should I do with this cat"?

Question

I just went out to see if the cat was there and it wasn't.

What should I do next?

Should I go in the night and try to find it

Or should I just forget about it?

HI there again Maire... I just found your other answer and posted a reply.

The cat may be either in heat or in a dispute with another cat.  

Leaving cat food outside may help to draw out the cat so you can see if it is a feral (wild) cat or someone's pet.  If the cat is feral, it may look scruffy, if it is someone's pet who takes care of their cat it should look fairly healthy.  

If you are concerned you can always contact your local animal control agency and ask them if anyone has reported a lost cat.  There has been many instances where a cat has been taken from their home and dumped so the cat could also be lost.
