Question:

Remember the AP Language test this year?

Hey guys, I took the AP Lanugage test this year, and I remember really loving the final reading that we had to read in the multiple choice section of the exam.

Could you help me find it?

I remember that it was an essay about reading and that it ended with an analogy in which God praised readers over nonreaders. Additionally, it was written, according to the AP test writers, by a 20th century British author.

Help?

  1. Do a web search for "AP Test" and you will find many "helps" for studying for the AP tests. You might find some old tests (called 'released'). In those, you might find something by the same author, maybe even the very essay you seek.

Here are a few results to get you started.

  2. You will not be able to find out the name of the author as ETS (the maker of AP exams) does not release that information. They reuse certain questions for future exams so they keep any authors or composers they use for exams confidential.

  3. I'm sorry, I can't recall the author, or even much about the passage.

  5. Sorry, but no one's gonna be able to help you out, unless you ask other people in your class that took the test.

The AP people never release information about the multiple choice essays. That's why they don't ever include the exact year, nor the name of the author on the passage, because they usually switch off exams every few years.

  6. Sorry..

but ..i honestly have  no clue..

    but..

the Multiple Choice part of the test

    will "NEVER" be disclosed

    ..only the Essays are ...

but your best shot at finding it ..

is to DIRECTLY search Words or Quotes from the

    essay and Search that ...

    but otherwise...i cant help ..sorry...

  7. I believe its really hard to find it online, but idk. Ask your old AP english teacher. She may have a copy of the test.

  8. I know the passage that your talking about but I don't remember the name or author. I remember it had something to do with critics. The AP test company is very secretive about their tests and it can be years before they release the test for others to practice with and since that was in the multiple choice portion it may never be released. If you remember a line from it you could type it into Google and maybe that can connect you to the source (essay).

  9. Hey. I do remember the essay vaguely. I remember there was a part about a shooting range. The author was comparing how a literary critic has to read and review many books quickly just like how they must shoot many things in a shooting range quickly. That's about all I remember.

I'm sorry I can't be of much help. It must be very frustrating to search for something and probably never find.

Because collegeboard never releases their multiple choice portions of the AP test, theres a chance you might never see the essay.

By the way, none of the essays in the test listed the name of hte authors. It would only say something like the author wrote this peice in the late 70s or something like that.

  10. All i remember is the one by j.m. bARRY, IM TIRED SO I DONT REMEMBER MUCH RITE NOW...SORRY
