Perhaps you called it something else, but my dad has old audio recordings of what was called Jam Line. It was a telephone number that you called and got a Busy Signal, yet there were people yelling in the background for your phone number. You'd yell it out between the beeps of the busy signal and they'd call them back. This was how a lot of teenagers picked up girls/guys back in the 60's and 70's. I thought it was just in Minnesota, where my dad grew up, but recently found out that Iowa had it too, only they called it Beep Line there. Was it in your town, and if so, what did you call it? Do you remember the number you dialed? I want to know if a lot of other states had something like that? It was totally FREE too!
