...Radio Disney first came out at least over 10 years ago, and they played stuff like Weird Al, Disney showtunes, Disney movie tunes, Technotronic's "Pump Up The Jam", and basically kids' stuff?

  1. Hmmm...i'm too young to remember things from 10 years ago...

  2. I remember that Radio Disney was a new thing, too.  Most of the small markets I lived in didn't have any interest in carrying Radio Disney (examples include Austin, TX, Nashville, TN, and Charleston, WV).  If a market did carry it, more than likely they were on the medium wave broadcast band (aka AM).  Still now, they are still on many narrow-band AM stations were the quality is marginal.  Hopefully some are lucky and hear it on FM or on SDARS providers like Sirius.

When living in Charleston, WV, I did pick up a Radio Disney affliate on the extended AM band (when it was still new).  I couldn't get the call sign or location of license, but I never heard a format like theirs.

Radio Disney is for those who like to remember the good old days of how Disney influenced the world.  Sometimes, I like to remember those memories!
