Remi Bizouard clinches fourth consecutive Night of the Jumps victory in Bulgaria

Remi Bizouard of France emerged triumphant at the final stop of 2011 International Motorcyclist Federation (FIM) Freestyle Motocross (FMX) World Championships that went down at the Sofia Arena in Sofia, Bulgaria, on Saturday, December 17.
Chile’s Javier Villegas settled for the runner-up place, while Spain’s Maikel Melero took third place to round out the podium.
Around 10,000 spectators showed up at the Sofia Arena on Saturday to witness some of biggest names in the sport of FMX battle it out top honours at Saturday’s event, which also marked the end of the 2011 season for International Freestyle Motocross Federation
(IFMXF) Night of the Jumps World Tour.
The fans had been looking forward to the confrontation between Bizouard and Villegas for a long time. Both the riders had been in amazing form throughout the year and their clash in the main event on Saturday was expected to be nothing short of electrifying.
The crowd was surely not disappointed with the thrilling contest that took place. While all the riders were nothing short of impressive, the best performance of the night came from Bizouard whose winning run comprised of a Ruler, Cliff-hanger and Heart Attack
flip before making a Sides-addle landing.
Villegas delighted the crowd with an epic performance, starting off his run with a huge Superman double seat grab, followed by a back-flip Indian air seat grab, a cliff-hanger, a Pastrana air to no-hand landing, a back-flip Indian air, a back-flip nac-nac,
a back-flip tsunami, a back-flip cordova and a stylish nac-nac before capping off the run with a suicide back-flip to no-hand landing. Despite his remarkable performance, he was unable to surpass Bizouard and had to settle for runner-up place.
Even though he missed out on victory, the Chilean rider still took home his first 2011 FIM Freestyle MX World Championships Title after finishing the season with 210 points against Bizouard’s 195 points.
Talking to the 2010 FIM champion Libor Podmol in a webcast interview, Villegas said, "I wish I had won today, but hey, it doesn't matter," Villegas told 2010 FIM champ Libor Podmol in a webcast interview after claiming his first championship trophy. "So
tell me, when do the houses and the cars and the money start coming?"
Bizouard did not seem too disappointed with his second-place finish in the season and hoped to secure his place on the podium next year as well.
