The Rhone giants have collected 10 points after four games in the league this season, and Remi Garde is satisfied with his side’s performance so far.
While talking to reporters, the 46-year-old expressed his satisfaction at Lyon’s good start to the season but has asked his players to do more.
The coach said that three wins and a draw after four games is indeed a good start, but it’s not enough. Les Gones have been unconvincing at times this season and that is something the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international has asked his players to work on.
Garde added that if the table is looked, Lyon are in a good position but things will only get tougher from here and Lyon need to work on their weaknesses.
"Purely in terms of numbers, with three wins and a draw, it has been a satisfactory start,"
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 defender said despite getting off to a good start in the 2012/2013 Ligue campaign, they must do better and players are aware of that.
"In terms of our play, we have alternated between the good and the not so good. We must do better and everyone is aware of that.”
Garde feels that OL’s win in the prestigious Trophee des Champions last month was great for team’s morale. The coach added that the win against Montpellier in New York was the start they needed, and they have been in fine form ever since.
“The Trophee des Champions did us a lot of good and over the last eight weeks the signs are that the spirit has been good.
However, the 46-year-old feels that there is still room for improvement and Olympique Lyonnais need to do better if they want to achieve their objectives this season.
“I am always demanding. We have a young squad that will progress and I feel they are ready to respond to a fixture schedule that is about to become more demanding."
Remi Garde’s side take on AC Ajaccio at Stade de Gerland, this Sunday.
