Despite a relatively poor performance, Olympique Lyonnais managed to draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lille-OSC-c39800 last night. However, Remi Garde and Aulas are happy to see the team stretch its unbeaten run to six games
Last night, thanks to a late goal by Argentine international Lisandro Lopez, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 managed to salvage a draw against Rudi Garcia’s LOSC Lille in week 6 of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 Championnat.
So far, last night’s performance against Les Dogues was Lyon’s worst performance of the current campaign. Throughout the game, Les Gones never really looked like a team that would mount a comeback against a side that was very confident despite making a shaky
start to the new campaign.
Tactics deployed by Remi Garde were also questioned by many people following the game. The French tactician used the 4-4-2 formation against the 2011 champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. However, the coach defended his tactics by saying that the basic formation allowed
him to field fresh players and also pointed out that Lyon beat Lille last season twice with this formation.
“I assume the change I made, it allowed me to enter fresh players. In addition, we beat Lille twice last year playing like that. But it’s not because of the system, we were too wasteful and there were tired legs in the first period.”
After a perfect week, Lyon salvaged just a draw against a side whose season has not really gone off to a great start. However, president, Jean-Michel Aulas was happy with the result which came on the back of a Europa League win a few days back.
Next Sunday, Lyon play against FC Girondins de Bordeaux, a team that is in a rich vein of form. The game against the Aquitaine club would be the club’s real test and will go a long way in indicating where Lyon could end up this season.
“We will prepare the visit of Bordeaux on Sunday. This game will already be decisive for the rest of the Championnat. It embodies our good start,” says Aulas.
Quietly wedged between eternal enemies http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 and Paris Saint-Germain, Lyon have not really made a lot of noise but are alive and well. However, in order to continue playing a leading role, they need to be more convincing while playing against
big teams, the next of which is Bordeaux.
