Olympique de Lyonnais playmaker Yoann Gourcuff is expected to feature against arch rivals Olympique de Marseille in Week 6 of the 2011/12 Ligue 1 Championelle.
Le Progress reports that Les Gones coach Remi Garde might consider giving the talented midfielder some playing time when Lyon host Marseille at Stade Gerland.
The 25-year-old has recovered from an ankle surgery and is expected to make his first 2011/12 Ligue 1 appearance.
Coach of Les Gones, Remi Garde, sees the former Bordeaux as an asset in the midfield especially against the Rhone club rivals Marseille. In a press conference the French tactician was quoted saying, “I’ll see if he is in the squad after practice on Saturday.”
When asked on the availability of Gourcuff, the 45-year-old coach replied, “We'll see… Yoann will need time to play himself back into form. He may be in the squad like any other player coming back from a long break. It takes time to get back to your best,
but I'm not worried about him.”
Garde further added that with the talented Gourcuff in the team, Les Gones will definitely get a great boast.

The L'Arbresle-born was quick to learn how to handle the playmaker, in contrast to his predecessor Claude Puel, who did not show much confidence in the former AC Milan midfielder.
In reply to the pressure on the young midfielder playing in a high pressure match, Garde said that he didn’t know about the exact date of the player’s return but added that the former Bordeaux man is feeling good and relaxed and it is very important that
he feels good.

Rhone giants last summer.
