The Lyon coach has expressed his disappointment at his side’s failure to get any points against Bordeaux on Sunday, but is remaining calm
It was the first defeat of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign for Lyon, as the Rhone giants lost to Les Girondins at home. Despite dominating for the larger parts of the match, Les Gones failed to get anything out of the game.
And Lyon coach, Remi Garde, is far from pleased with the result that has pushed his side to third in the league, four points behind leaders Marseille.
While talking to ligue1.com after the match, the 46-year-old stated that it was just one of those nights and nothing went their way at Stade de Gerland.
The coach said that his side is going through a rough patch at the moment and has backed OL to hit top gear soon.
“Sometimes there are nights like this one, we're in a bit of a dip at the moment, but it will pass."
Remi Garde said that his side was the better of the two, and it’s really frustrating to lose the match like this. Lyon played attacking football and the coach feels that the result was harsh on them.
“It's frustrating; I think the side that played attacking football, which had chances and who got behind their opponents weren't rewarded tonight.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international said that his side created a lot of chances in the game, but they just couldn’t find the back of the net.
“It's a shame but the ball just wouldn't go in, even though we created chances. It's tough to fight back once Bordeaux go in front.”
Backing his players, Garde said that Lyon played with a solid game plan, and he isn’t blaming his players for the loss.
“My players stuck to the game plan of working on the flanks and to switch play quickly. I can't really fault the lads; they played a good match.”
