Despite Olympique Lyonnais’ impressive start to the season, the coach does not feel that his young side can challenge for the Championelle quite yet
The Rhone giants have started the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign in a positive manner and are currently third in the league with 15 points on the table after 8 games.
Looking at their impressive form and talent OL have at their disposal, many are tipping the Rhone giants to rival the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Lille and Marseille for the Ligue 1 crown.
However, coach, Remi Garde has played down such suggestions and is cautious about terming his side as potential title winners.
While talking to reporters, the 46-year-old stated that Lyon’s form right now is a pleasing factor for everyone at the club, but added that it’s too early to consider his side as genuine title contenders.

"At Lyon, we know better than most just how much energy is required to remain out in front.”
Garde said that Lyon need to take one game at a time and there is no need to think about the future at this moment.
“On the other hand, sneaking up in the final few games requires a great amount of self-confidence; we just try to give everything in every game. There's no calculating – we'll see if that works out for us."
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international stated that Lyon’s main priority this season is to qualify for the Champions League and everyone at the club is confident of achieving that feat this season after missing out on it last time around.
"As long as nothing has been decided mathematically, however, we'll continue asking ourselves the same question."
Praising his players, the coach said that every player at Stade de Gerland is playing with extra responsibility, and academy players have been phenomenal for the club this season.
"Despite a young, even immature team, the performances have been positive. We even finished the Lorient match with six players that have come through our youth academy."
