http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 go to the top of the table after thrashing Elie Baup’s side 4-1 on Wednesday, with Bafetimbi Gomis scoring a hat-trick for the visitors. It was an eye-catching performance from OL and coach, Remi Garde, is delighted to see his side in
such rich form.
While talking to reporters after the game, the Frenchman stated that it was an interesting game and Lyon performed really well. After last week’s defeat against Toulouse, it was important to do well in this match and the coach is pleased with his players’
response.
Praising his side, Garde said that each player performed his duties really well and they did what they couldn’t do against Toulouse in the previous match. Lyon were the better side of the two and according to the boss, they deserved to win.
"It was a good game and the team played well. What we did not do three days ago at Toulouse, we did tonight. We have been really efficient but I think overall we deserved to win," Garde said.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international added that Olympique de Marseille created a number of problems for his side at the beginning but Les Gones did well to stop them from taking control of the game. OL responded to that and worked really hard on the pitch and
were rewarded for that in the end.
"I think we created many problems for Marseille, they created some for us at the beginning of the game but then we reacted well, we replied mentally and played our game."
Remi Garde said that his forwards were aware of their defensive duties as well and they troubled Marseille to a large extent. Lyon played with a game plan and it worked as the hosts crumbled to Les Gones’ pressure.
"I want to highlight the good defensive work done by our forwards. They pressured Marseille a lot and then broke forward quickly, it was interesting."
Lyon will play host to defending champions, Montpellier, in their next Ligue 1 game.
