Despite finishing fourth in the Ligue 1 and missing out on next year’s Champions League football, Remi Garde and his assistants have signed two-year extension to their contracts.
The Frenchman was appointed as the manager of the club in 2011 after the sacking of Claude Puel. Under his tutelage, Les Gones finished fourth in Ligue 1, ten points behind third-placed Lille.
With no previous experience as a coach at the highest level, Garde was appointed as the manager of OL after three trophy-less years. The Frenchman, however, could not guide Lyon to a podium finish.
Under Remi Garde, Les Gones were able to hold their own amongst the big boys of the league. Despite a quiet summer transfer window last year, Les Gones managed to win Coupe de http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and also reached the final of Coupe de la Ligue.

Remi Garde has received a huge amount of praise during his debut season as a manager at highest level. However, president Jean-Michel Aulas will be expecting vast and quick improvement in league form.
The Frenchman has a massive responsibility on his shoulders in terms of rebuilding the squad. The looming departure of few key players is not what Garde had wanted.
