The Olympique Lyonnais coach feels that there is still room for improvement in his side despite Les Gones’ impressive start to the season
The Rhone giants are unbeaten in the Ligue 1 this season after four games, and that is a pleasing factor for the coach.
However, the 46-year-old is not getting carried away and has asked his players to continue performing like this, if they want to achieve something this season.
Lyon were less than convincing last season that saw them finish outside podium, depriving them of Champions League football.
And Remi Garde has warned his players that if they want to qualify for the European club competition this time around, they need to be more consistent and clinical.
While talking to reporters, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 player stated that he is pleased with the way his side has started the competition, and has urged his players not to lower their guard.
Olympique Lyonnais are currently second in the Ligue 1, and Garde is pleased with that. But the Frenchman has his eyes set on topping the table and has asked his players to do more in order to achieve that feat.
The former Lyon defender added that his side has done pretty well so far in this campaign, but there are some areas that require immediate attention.
Lyon are playing good football at the moment but there have been ups and downs, and Garde wants his side to be more consistent while on the field.
"Mathematically, we're doing well, but in terms of how we're playing, there are peaks and troughs,"
The 46-year-old added that he is blessed to have so many quality and gifted players in his side, who know that they can still do better.
"I think the players are aware they must and can do better.”
Remi Garde said that Lyon still need to improve, but there are many positives to be taken from what he has seen of Les Gones this season.
“We have to improve, but there are still many positive aspects to the way we're playing."
