Remington 870 express vs benelli nova?

which do you think is better a 12 guage remington 870 express or a benelli nova. im trying to pick out a gun and i want the benelli but my dad wants the remington. which do you think is better quality for your money and an overall better gun?

I would go the with the remington 870 out of the two. Its just a personal preference, I guess... I just like the feel of the wood and metal: I have nothing against benelli as a company, but it just feels like too much plastic to me.

PLUS the 870 is a lot better for butstroking!! ;-b

The 870 is a fine gun as evidenced by the placement of it in law enforcement vehicles all over the United States. It is tried and true. I have several, however Benelli is a superior gun. It is more expensive, but you will love the action and accuracy. If I had my choice and money was not an option I would pick the Benelli. If I were limited by budget, I would go 870. Either gun will give you reliable and dependable performance.

The Benelli without a doubt. The Remington is a great gun, but the Benelli's quality is unmatched in this price range. It is a very very comfortable, well made shotgun. If you can afford it, I would recommend spending the extra $100 for the Benelli Supernova.

Benelli makes a great shotgun, but I'd go with the Remington just because of the after market accessories and assorted barrel lengths

Hands down go with the benelli.  It is the best money you can spend on a shotgun.  I am an avid waterfowl hunter and the benelli nova stands up to everything and every temperature (-15f).  I have had to paddle boats with and it still goes bang.  Never had a jam, freeze up or anything and have had the gun for 8 years.
