  1. I would go with the Remington 870. Good all around shotgun and the 28" barrel will suit the situations you describe better.

  2. Your kind of comparing apples to oranges here..... The 870 is a pump and the 935 is a semi-auto.... I should point out the Mossberg 935 with a 22 inch barrel is a turkey gun. The choke on it only will allow you to shoot shot and not slugs.... So the best choice would be the Remington 870....

Heres an 870 Express.... Make sure the dealer installs the appropriate choke so you can safely use slugs.....

  3. I'm an 870 guy. I have a 12 gauge Express Magnum with a couple of barrels for different activities.

30" Vent rib, Rem-Chokes (I use Carsten Extended Tubes) for skeet, sporting clays, ducks and geese.

18" plain barrel bead sight and fixed Cyl-bore; for quail shooting and home defense with buckshot.

20" fully rifles and rifle sights for sabot slugs shooting feral hogs (or deer but I have never used it for a deer)

  4. The Remington 870 is hard to beat.  I have the 12 gauge with the 22" rifled barrel & rifle sights.  Although it is a slug-only (unless I change barrels) it shoots like a carbine.

  5. I love the 870 great for deer and small game, mine has a tight pattern with field shot and i can shoot accurately 100 yards with iron sights with slugs, i love it.

  6. 870. i have the express version for home protection.

  7. Go with the 870 Rem its made out of better beer cans
