not free, but 3d home architect is reasonably priced.  It is a cad cam program, which will take same time to learn.  you will be able to build a virtual, multi-floored and multi-roomed building, with floors, walls, furniture, windows and doors.  You'll be able to "walk" around, inside and outside.
