hi there my grandmother has a 2 story house.the roof leaks in some spots and the ceiling is stained from the water and the floor is weak in some spots.but the house is located on 25 acres the house is 2 story 3 bedroom 1 bath full basement and attic and the basement has like I think 3 big rooms 1 could be turned into a bathroom 1 into a bedroom.but she is in her 70s and my grandfather built the house when they first got married would it be a good idea to just fix and sell it or fix and keep it.

  1. Sounds like a keeper to me from what you said. You should also be able to add one more bathroom, either upstairs or downstairs, so in total you would have 4 bedrooms 3 baths. That third bath is worth more than 1 extra bedroom to most people. First things first, replace the roof.

  2. In the current market, fix and keep might be the better option.  There is a lot you can do as far as materials to increase the value of the home - whether you sell now or sometime in the future.

Green homes (meaning energy efficient and non toxic) sell faster and for more $ than others.
