Question:

Remote Sensor on TV Doesn't Work and Can't...

I bought this TV from Craigslist for cheap. I knew the remote didn't work when I bought it, but figured I could either use the cable box remote or manually adjust the TV using the keys on the front panel.Imagine my surprise when I find out the remote DOES work, but the TV remote sensor does not! Not only that, I cannot scroll thru the menu using the front panel buttons. Not sure why, btu they do not seem to work. I have no idea what to do. The captions to the TV are stuck on, and I do not have a cable box yet, so who knows if I can access the menu with a cable box remote. My dilemma: How do you remove the cover of the TV?? Is there any way to fix the buttons on the front panel so I can get to the menu? And is there any way to fix/replace a remote sensor without paying a technician hundreds in repair fees? Oh and I am sure it isn't the remote. It programmed my DVD player just fine. Thanks!I have the same problem. I bought a new remote control and it seems to work fine (as far as responds by lighting up when any button is touched) but no response from the TV. I confirmed this by buying a universal and it worked fine on my other TV but not this one, so I'm pretty sure the remote sensor on the TV is dead. How can I change it?
