Question:

Remote control for tv?

I have a small tv/dvd combo which needs re-tuning, but I have lost the remote control which is needed to carry out this operation. The set is a Bush & is about 4 years old. Will one of those "all singing all dancing " remotes you can buy at most electrical retailers do the same job as the original.

Hope I`ve made this clear. Thanks

  1. Oh yes, absolutely. Just go to Best Buy or any store of that type and you'll be surprised. They even have options. Another thing you can try is go on their website, search universal remote control, or contact them by phone. That way you'll find it even easier, without leaving your home at all.

Another good idea: call your tv set company, see if they provide any kind of replacement for their remotes, they might:)

    Good luck!

  2. Many combo-units do share most features as an across-the-board (industrial) simplicity, but a few do not.

Depending upon the individual unit and features, most "more common" commands are convertible to multi-use remotes, but you might have to "re-learn" those features.

  3. the won't do everything that the original one did. but you can order an original one thru ebay or the manufacturer

  4. yes they will, you will get instructions how to tune the control into your tv, you will have a list of makes.

  5. yes because multi use remotes will come with a book which will list teh frequencies for all remote appliances so you jus key in a code and it sets teh frequency !

  6. go to argos you have 2 weeks to try or return

  7. No, unfortunately you will need either the original or an exact replacement to fine tune and make other changes. The only thing you can do with those cheap replacement ones is on/off, volume, change channels, etc.

  8. I lost the remote for my TV/DVD and bought a universal remote.  It works fine.  Be sure when you buy a universal remote that it says it's compatible with Bush and follow the set up directions.  I am not the most technically savy guy and I did it.

  9. go india and get the remote or breake ur tv.

  10. this is a great site

  11. yes it will but you will either have to no the code for the bush tv/dvd to make it work or telephone bush and give them the seriel number and the only code i have for bush is 0157

  12. Yup. A OneForAll remote or similar will get you sorted. Alternatively if you can get a copy of Television magazine you can get an original from one of the advertisers.
