Right now my car remote control is not locking my car doors. Everytime I press on the lock button it doesn't lock. So I have to use my fingers on all 4 of the doors to lock my car. Could the remote be out of batteries?

  1. yea

  2. Yes..bring this remote to any Autozone location...They have a free remote tester there, replace your battery first.

  3. the remote is in your hands and you ask us if the batteries are dead,,, friggin genius....

  4. yea, happend to mine, how old is it

  5. yes

  6. Sure,  That is a logical assumption.  Some makes require the remote to be synced with the car after battery changes, and the owner's manual will explain that process.

  7. Dead batteries is obvious reason that can quickly be checked.

Another solution could be the programming.

Each manufacturer is different, but I know how to program most Ford remotes.

Usually all models (except Contour) are a simple switch with the ignition.

Make sure to have all remotes to that vehicle.

Then take your key and turn it to where your dash lights come on, but don't start the vehicle.

Do this quickly 7X (small exception is 8X).

Your electric locks will click down and up letting you know they are programmed.

This should work on most Fords.

  8. Most likely the batteries, uses just a typical watch battery, go into a Sears or watch repair place and they'll help you.

  9. Does the light in remote glows when pressing lock button. If it doesn't your battery is gone
