Remote control possibley defective

Question

i have a westwind fan remote control. i recently replaced the bulbs w/ flourescents. these started to act erratically so i replaced them with the originals. now when i turn on the lights the're in a dimmed mode as if the unit is not getting enough juice. can anybody suggest a test solution for this problem?
