Remote door and trunk opener opened someone elses trunk?

My wife unlocked her car door with the remote as she approached it. Then she went behind the car and opened the trunk using the remote. She retrieved her purse and shut the trunk to see the trunk open on same model car parked next to her. She waited a few minutes and no one was approaching so she shut their trunk. She didn't think to see if she unlocked their doors. Is this something to be concerned about?
