Hello, my boyfriend borrowed my car quite some time ago and somehow messed up my remote control so the car won't start remotely anymore. When I push the button on the remote to start the car, the lights flash five times then the horn honks and the doors lock remotely. The lock/unlock buttons and truck release still works but the car does not "chirp" anymore when I lock the doors remotely. Also, since this car is a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE it has a passlock system. The light on the steering column used to blink when the car was off and was solid when the car was on. Now it is solid all the time. I've tried to get answers at the Automotive Forum on the internet and at the Surgenor Pontiac Buick dealership, no luck. By BF says he only pushed the buttons on the remote so I am thinking he messed up the programming or something. Hope someone out there can help me before we get to -30C here in Ottawa, ON Canada. Many thanks to those who try.
