Remote wire on pontiac g5 stock radio?

ok so i want to hook up my amp in my g5 and i still have the stock radio and i dont want to take it out(cuz then it would look like trash with a diff radio) and i dont know which wire is the remote wire on the radio. Can anyone help me?..since it is a stock radio i dont know if the wire is blue or not?

  1. you will need a Line Out Converter (LOC) with Remote Trigger  http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5285...

    the line output converter will give your radio a set of RCA outputs and the "remote trigger" will tell it when to turn on

    for a remote wire you just want a +12V DC wire that is "switched" which means that its hot when the key is turned and off when the key is in the off position- you could tap into the switch wire on the back of the radio or from the fuse box (a test light would help)


  2. Get a test light or a multimeter and ground one lead. Use the other lead to find a wire that has +12v when the ignition is on and 0v when the ignition is off.

    Better still, if you have a power antenna, try to figure out which wire sends an activation signal to it. tap your remote wire to that.
