  1. The ZZR600 has the battery under the seat, the ZZR1100 you have to remove the petrol tank to get to the battery. It's a stupid design but there you go.

It's quite easy to get the tank off and easier to do with a near empty tank. First remove the two bolts at the rear of the tank, underneath the seat, then the two at the front, near the ignition switch. Then take off the main fuel pipe, this is the longer one of the two connected to the fuel tap, leave the other one that's a reserve pipe but doesn't need to be undone. Make sure the fuel tap is turned to off before removing the pipe.  Then remove the fuel gauge electrical connector. This is a small block connector that runs behind the tank near to the fuse box. Just follow the wires leading to the tank and you will find the right one to disconnect. Then carefully lift the tank. You will need to lift and pull back is the front sits underneath the plastic cowling that fits around the tank.

    I hope this helps.

  2. Mine is under the seat.

Two bolts get the seat off, then disconnect the battery and the strap holding it in place and slide it out. Kind of a pain in the a$$.

Wish they made it with the side facing out so you could see to check the water in it and fill it.

  3. Your model is a ZX1100

    Remove the fuel tank.

I know it's a pain, but it has to be done.
