Remove dry adhesive tape?

i put scotch tape on my glass windows when i was painting the wood around. i left it there for quite some time and now i went to remove them it is already dry and hard. is there anything i can do to remove them?

Goo-Gone. Available at Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes.

Use mineral spirits (white spirits) to begin with- this will reacivate the glue and leave you with a gooey mess. Scrape this off and finish off with goo gone or similar.

in future use 14 day masking tape. These are generally blue and are UV safe for longer periods

Use an adhesive remover like Goo Gone to loosen the tape.  If the tape is on the glass you can use a straight blade razor to scrape the glass clean.  First to a vertical cut where the tape and paint touch to break the paint free and then scrape the tape free with a low angle to the glass.  Both products should be available at your local home improvement store.
