Remove earpads from R.E.D. Tantrum helmet?

i have a new R.E.D. Tantrum helmet but cant remove the earpads. I have uncliped the pads where they clip into the ears but the pads are still joined at the back where the Mc2 adjustment is and i cant see anyway to get them off. I need to get them off to instal a subwoofer audex system. Please help. Thanks!!
