Remove rear bumper on 2008 honda accord

hey i was just wondering if anyone knows how to remove the rear bumper on a 2008 honda accord sedan?

  1. most bumpers are the same now - and are actually bumper covers over a syrofoam body

    the come off in 2 ways, first open the trunk and pull back the carpet boards that line the rear and side of the inside of the trunk

    that should expose the nuts that hold on the tail lights and I would remove the tail lights - it doesn't take long

    usually that exposes a few nuts, bolts or plastic fastners that obviously hold the bumper cover on

    also, you will notice buttons on the bumper cover itself - these buttons have a center plastic pin that pushes up from the backside of the bumper - save those and be carefull with them as they are easy to break

    those buttons are also found sometimes under the bumper and in the wheel well too so you just have to start loosening them and finding out where they are still attached

    the bumper cover should come off, the styrofoam just falls out and the bumper pistons inside the bumper should then be exposed
