Hello

I had a lot of mold and fungus on a wall of my bedroom. I removed it using clorox on the wall but there is a funny odor from it that won't let me be around. I used many products to try to remove the odor but I just don't know what to do? Help!!!! please!!

  1. Wow! This is a TOUGH question. You used the right stuff. Sorry you have that smell. That's what I would have used; Clorox. You could try the following:

1 - Repaint with Kilz 2 paint. That should help it but may not take it all away.

2 - Vanilla extract is very powerful and kills many odors by soaking in and reacting with the material. You could try it on a small spot, but it stains see, so that may not be the best way. But I'm saying that you could try it.

3 - There is basement sealer paint, that seals out moisture. It is grey in color.

4 - If the vanilla extract works on a small spot, you could wipe some on it and then coat with Kilz 2.

See if you can find a Vanilla Extract that is not dark in color. I don't know if you can. Anyway, just do a small spot, to see if things work out okay, alright? Kilz 2 will cover it and seal it some.

  2. Mold is extremely hard to kill / remove since it is deeper than just the visible surface of your wall.. Most professionals simply replace the drywall.

  3. Bleach will kill mold , keep your window open to let fresh air come into the room, repeat if you must it will go away eventually.
