  1. Things You’ll Need:

    Turpentine

    2 clean sponges

    Mild detergent

    1 cup luke-warm water

    Clean water for rinsing

    Hair spray or hand sanitizer

    Toothbrush or stiff cleaning brush

    Mild detergent

    Clean water for rinsing

    Remove an Oil-Based Paint Stain

Step1Clear away any excess paint by scraping or toweling it off. To scrape, use a blunt edged knife or piece of cardboard. Another option is to use a towel to blot the excess away.

Step2Place a small amount of turpentine on a sponge and blot the paint-stained area. The paint comes out of the fabric and leaves the oily residue of the turpentine solvent behind.

Step3Add 1 teaspoon mild detergent to 1 cup of lukewarm water and mix.

Step4Use a clean sponge to blot the previously stained area with the water and detergent mixture to remove the oily solvent residue.

Step5Rinse the area with clean water.

    Remove a Latex-Based Paint Stain

Step1Scrape away or towel off any excess paint from the stained area. To scrape, use a blunt edged knife or piece of cardboard, or use a towel to blot the excess paint from the area.

Step2Apply a mild detergent to the stained area if the paint is still wet.

Step3Scrub the stain with the detergent to remove the wet paint.

Step4Coat the stained area with hair spray or hand sanitizer if the paint stain is old or dried out.

Step5Brush the stain with a toothbrush or stiff cleaning brush to remove the dried paint.

Step6Wash the area with mild detergent and water to remove the hair spray or hand sanitizer.

Step7Rinse the previously stained area with clean water.

  2. In all likelihood, you're screwed.  However, if it is latex paint, get them wet and don't allow them to dry until the stain is gone.  Latex paint is water based, and you should just rinse and scrub until it's out.  But if the paint has soaked in to the fabric at all, it has probably stained the fibers, in which case they pants will  never be the same again.  If it is just small flecks of paint that have stayed on the surface of the fabric, allow them to dry and scratch them off.

Sorry.  I know how you feel.  My hubby just bleach stained my entire summer wardrobe.
