Question:

Removing Hair Dye from Couch?

I was given a multi-colored/floral couch from my mom-in-law. It is a beautiful floral print, however, the area along the couch where your head would normally rest is stained by a hair coloring rinse my mom-in-law used. I have tried some oxi-clean stuff but it didn't work very well. The stain has been there for a while. Am not sure what fabric it is, but it has a smooth almost silky feeling to it. Also wondering how to get stains off the arms from normal body oils built up over time from people putting their arms on it. Thanks!

  1. Spray with strait ammonia and then steam clean.

Be careful of fumes - do the cleaning outside or in a room with open windows.

You can rent a steam cleaning machine with upholstery attachments at most grocery stores.
