I'm having a problem with this "regsvr.exe" thingy. Its supposed to be a virus but I'm not able to delete it with nod32 updates antivirus. can any one help? I tried googling it out and came across

http://amiworks.co.in/talk/how-to-remove-new-folderexe-or-regsvrexr-or-autoruninf-virus/

but to no avail.

It uses a lot of cpu and slows down other programs and also de activates msconfig.

  1. 1-run msconfig

    2- disable all startup programs

    3- disable non-microsoft services

    4- reboot in safe mode

5-find and delete the file you want normally will be in windows or windows\system32 folder

  2. If you delete regsvr you will no longer be able to install or uninstall software. Its an important part of the operating system. If it is infected, you need to remove the infection not delete the file.

  3. try the following.

    1. update nod32

    2. turn off system restore

    3. boot in safe mode

    4. run your scans

5 re boot if clean turn on system restore.

I think you have one of the following:

    SystemPoser:Trojan-All Variants

    Email-Worm.Win32.Banwarum.a

    Worm/Autoit.PY
