  1. Invest in a steamer.  It's way less messy than the spray removers like DFI gel.  We bougth a steamer for like $50 at Menards to do wth bathroom.  It was pretty slick.  I had tried some of the other suggestions like fabric softener and DFI in the kitchen and it was a pain.  It's totally worth it to buy the steamer.  I'm sure that there are other stores like Home Depot and Lowe's that must sell them too.

The steamer heats up the paper and the glue.  If you are lucky, it will all come off in one piece.  (Ours came off in a font pattern piece and then a backing.)  Once it's warm enough, you can just slide a scraper behind the paper and sometimes it will even just peel right off with out the scraper.

There was mininal if any damage to the wall behind the paper when we used the steamer.  The DFI sometimes left behind a blue tint on the wall.  Otherwise, it was mostly me gauging the wall.

  2. Water, water, and more water.  Hopefully, there is paint on the wallboard underneath the paper, so that the wallboard won't get soaked when you are doing this.  Use a sponge or a garden sprayer.
