Removing a stove pipe through the roof

Question

I bought a house that I believe used a wood stove to heat the house, and they left the pipe in the roof. It has started to leak now when it rains, so I would like to remove it. how do I get it out? Can you torch it off? Or cut it off? I have no idea.
