Removing bayonet shaft on W80

Question

I have removed the lower casting containing the bayonet shaft assembly, and now need to remove the bayonet shaft.  There is a bearing race pressed very tightly on the shaft above the nylon gears.  Is there a way to R&R the shaft without destroying this race, or must the race be cut off for gear & shaft removal?
