Removing links. How do I remove the links on my watch? I notice only certain links have arrows.

How do I remove the links on my watch? I notice only certain links have arrows. What are the arrows for?my fossil watch band links have 2 arrows in opposite directions on either side of each link. can the pins be pressed out in either direction or do the links have to be dissasembled? or if you know what to do please tell me! i just got the d**n thing for christmas and its to big.
