Removing name from BT and 118 listings?

I just searched 118 ant bt phonebooks and was shocked to find my name, number and exact address on them.

How can i remove myself from these listings?

  1. Call your service provider ( BT, Talk-Talk, etc ) and tell them you want to be ex-directory. Your name and details are then removed from all listings. However your details will be on these sites  until they decide to update them and this could take a while.

    Also you may wish to remove your name from the listings that are sent to UK marketing companies, if so, go on the TPS website (telephone preference service) put in your details and the calls should stop in a couple of months.

    If you do this through the BT website you can have free caller ID, I think it's called TPS choose to refuse.


  2. you won't be able to do this, as BT makes money from selling your details to other third parties. its part of the GAME. sorry
