Removing progs from control panel?

I'm trying to improve the memory /performance of my Samsung P28. I wonder whether I can remove the following progrs from control panel?

1) Liveupdate symantec

2) LiveReg symantec

3) all the Microsoft Office XP updates?

4) Samasung smart screen -- huge, but not certain what it is good for???

5) Samsung Theme ???

6)Symantec Antivirus?

7) Windows XP Software updates

Hotfixes

Security updates

  1. Short Answer--> No on all of them!

    1.  Live update is the program that is part of youranti-viruss that helps it update so your computer stays safe.

    2.  LiveReg, again is part of your anti-virus

    3.  Only if you want to have to re-download all the XP updates.

    4.  Only if you want to have issues with your video card.

    5.  If remove this, you will not have a lot of the backgrounds, desktop themes, etc that came with your system.

    6.  That is your Anti-virus Software--And a good one to boot.

    7 and the rest:  Only if you don't want those items on your computer that is helping protect it and keep it up to date.


  2. The only ones that I'd remove are #4 and #5.  If you want to improve performance, then I'd purchase  Registry Cleaner.  You can go online and see what's there, but any Registry Cleaner from www.snapfiles.com is reliable.  Good luck.
