when we moved into our new home, there was this old rusty metal table we found behind the garage. its looks like it was nice at one point in time, now its just weather beaten and rusty. id like to refinish it and use it outside. it has severe rust and old paint on it. Any tips on given this table a new lease on life?

  1. If the table is ornamental metalwork it will take hours of sanding to get it in shape.  There are osforic acid rust neutralizers on the market you can use but they don't remove the rust, so you still have a rough surface.  The best thing for you to do is take it to a machine shop that has a sandblaster and let them clean it up for you.  Then you can apply a quality metal primer and paint.

  2. I think u must take some sand and put on the rust and paint it. please try it it may work. i read it in several books.

  3. Yes-try dusting the rust patches with baking soda, and put vinegar into a spray bottle, spraying it, and then lightly sanding it.
