Question:

Removing tape & residue from wooden tobacco humidor lid?

The tobacco humidor with pipe rack is similar to the one in the link supplied:

The tape is of a lite brown paper type and I've been able to remove some but the residue is left behind. I've tried WD40 & baby oil and it doesn't work.

Would there be any liquid type that can be purchased to do this?

I have had Formby's products recommended. Could this be a solution for my problem?

Thanks.

  1. Rubbing Alcohol will take it off. It's cheap and at the drug store.

  2. Goo Gone.. works for most residue and it should not harm the wood. Try it on an inconspicuous place on the humidor, but I've used it to clean wood floors covered in carpet (carpet tape) and never had a problem.
