After penning new deal with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130, Remy Garde has been given guarantees by the president that the Frenchman will have the final say on transfers this summer
Former technical director of Lyon’s youth academy, Remi Garde took the reins of senior team in 2011 following the sacking of Claude Puel. In his debut season, Lyon managed to win Coupe de http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and also reached the final of Coupe de la Ligue.
Les Gones failed to finish in top three and missed out on next year’s Champions League. However, Remi Garde was praised for his work in his first season as he is building a team for the future. The Frenchman blamed the inconsistency of his team for the depressing
results but vowed to come back stronger.
While talking to reporters, the former Arsenal player highlighted the fact that his young side is in period of transition and great things are expected from these players in the coming years.
"It's not the end of the club and it's not the end of the world – we are in a transition period."
The president of the club has given his backing to the Frenchman. Jean-Michel Aulas has full faith in Remy Garde’s abilities and he views the Frenchman as the right man to take Les Gones forward.
After extending Garde’s contract, Jean-Michel Aulas has now assured the former Arsenal player that he will have sufficient funds to invest in the transfer window. And it will be the coach, not the president or anyone else, who will have the final say on
transfers.
While talking to reporters, Jean-Michel Aulas assured the club’s supporters that Olympique Lyonnais will invest in transfer market this summer. Devoted president of the club revealed that Les Gones are expected to sign two or three players.
However, Aulas revealed that due to the financial troubles at the club, a big-money signing is highly unlikely. According to the Frenchman, if Remi Garde wants to sign a big-name player, he has to sell few players first. The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kim-c20955 Kallstrom and Michel
Bastos are likely to be sacrificed for that cause.
Jean-Michel Aulas gave his full backing to the club’s manager and said that Remi Garde should be able to afford a player of his choice among his favourite targets.
