Ok, I want to convert some .ts video and audio files to MPEG in order to burn them to a DVD that I can watch on my DVD player. Can I just rename the file extension to .mpeg or do I need to convert it? What converter would you recommend? I'm using Windows Vista if that helps.

  1. If you rename to mpeg they will work on your PC but it depends on the DVD player hooked up to the TV whether they'll play or not.

Why not create a proper DVD with Nero?  That's what I use.

  2. Just by renaming  to .MPEG wont help you, you need to convert it.

Try the format converter software - "FormatFactory". It converts all type of formats and you can also get it free.
