Renan Barao: My only goal is to become the bantamweight champion – UFC news
Renan Barao, the man who holds the longest winning streak in the sport of mixed martial arts, after securing another emphatic win over Scott Jorgensen has now just one facet and target in his resilient mind, to become the UFC’s bantamweight title owner.
Brazil seriously has a thriving mixed martial arts talent as this fact was well proved by its another inhabitant Renan Barao who emphatically nailed his fellow bantamweight opponent Scott Jorgensen in a 3-round wild ride arranged by Ultimate Fighting Championship
(UFC) in its pay-per-view UFC 143.
The special edition was headlined by the welterweight brawl between Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz. The bout was scheduled to decide the rightful owner of the vacant interim welterweight title. In the bantamweight division UFC management proudly put forth a
Brazilian who possesses a surging, impressive and somewhat startling resume, a resume that can easily intimidate an opponent.
Renan at just the age of 25 has been in a total 30 mixed martial art brawls. He has won a whopping 28 bouts and has lost just one clash to Joao Paulo Rodrigues de Souza, interestingly that skirmish was his career’s first bout. Since 2005, after the first
loss the young man hasn’t lost even a single bout.
Barao’s lethalness lies in the fact that he is a submission specialist and owns a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu apart from that he has expertise in Muay Thai as well. A combination of all these weapons in his artillery gives him an immense advantage
over his opponents. It is this reason why the young gun is getting more and more famous in his home town and the recent win has even made him more invincible and known to the world especially to the American UFC fans.
In UFC 143 Renan stood in the octagon against Scott Jorgensen, the 29-year-old brawler though did not have a much brawling experience yet he has come from grappling background and had been in NCAA Division 1 wrestling. Apart from that he is a purple belt
in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and fights while applying all the three styles of jiu-jitsu, boxing, and wrestling.
The most important aspect is Scott is a former bantamweight title holder in fact Dominick Cruz, the current bantamweight title owner, grasped his gold from Scott. It is this reason why Renan’s win is being considered an important one and now he is being
dubbed by most as the future number one contender for bantamweight title. When asked to comment on his future plans the young surging brawler remarked, "The title is my goal," Barao said. "I train every day, and I'm ready for it."
His third consecutive win in UFC and his epic performance has also made UFC president Dana White acclaim his talent.
White said, "In Brazil, he's not flying under the radar," White said. "In Brazil, everybody's buzzing about that guy."
Renan has already made it clear that he now wants to work harder because this is his chance to shine and he has proved this fact by securing an unbreakable 28-win streak.
