The German club have announced that the Brazil international will be departing the side in January to move back to his native country
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have confirmed that attacking midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Renato-Augusto-c30828 is set to leave the Bundesliga outfit in the January transfer window to return to Brazil. The second-placed side have agreed the sale of the 24-year-old
player with Club World Cup winners, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Corinthians-c38855.
The winger joined the Factory Squad in 2008 from Brazilian team http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Flamengo-c39361 and played a total of 97 Bundesliga games. His last game for them was the 3-0 triumph over rivals Hamburg on the previous weekend. Before his transfer
to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904, he made his name at old club Flamengo making over 50 appearances.
Club general manager Wolfgang Holzhauser claimed that the Brazilian star has contributed a lot to the German side, and has given them several great moments during the last four years. He stated that the player has been very
professional even though he had to deal with a number of injuries recently.
Moreover, the club official said that the midfielder also helped the club move in a better direction. He admitted that the youngster is a born and bred Brazilian and that is why he wants to go back to his home country. On
the other hand, he will also boost his chances with the national team if he gets more playing time at his new club.
"Renato has given us plenty of wonderful footballing moments during his time in Leverkusen. Even if it was tough for him in recent months due to different injuries, we will always have good memories of him and he has made
a big contribution to the positive development of our club," he added.
"Renato is a Brazilian through and through and he missed his home country. We believe that a new beginning for him in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 makes sense in view of the 2014 World Cup and that he can really become an alternative for the national
team over there,” he mused.
Wolfgang conceded that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Renato-c30823 is not just seeking a move to Brazil because of footballing reasons, but due to home sickness as well.
