Renault driver Bruno Senna: Preference is to add more points to my name at the moment – Formula 1
Renault driver Bruno Senna has said that his preference at the moment is to add more points to his name.
Senna added that if Renault make more developments in the R31 car, he can perform on the grid in the decent manner in the last stages of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
The Brazilian commented, “My prerogative is adding more points to my name. If we can still add to the car a little bit here and there, that will help.”
He went on to mention, “I'm convinced that will be the case. The low-speed nature of Singapore made it the worst circuit for us in terms of performance. That hurt us a little bit, but with the updates that we have planned for Suzuka we should be strong there,
and get both cars in the points again - that's where we belong.”
Apart from that, the 27-year-old driver discussed the team’s current form in the ongoing season and stated that they need to stay ahead of the Force India team in the 2011 constructors’ championship.
Other than that, Senna mentioned that they must fight in the next races in order to beat Mercedes GP and also hold on to the fifth place until the end of the championship battle.
The Enstone-based outfit is placed at the fifth place with 70 points in the constructors’ championship after completing 14 rounds of the season so far. The team driver Senna is aiming to beat those teams, which are ahead of them in the title fight at the
moment.
In the 2011 Singapore race weekend, Renault driver Senna was slow at the Marina Bay street circuit. He started his Grand Prix from the 15th position on the opening grid and came at the same place in the final race classifications
in Singapore.
His teammate Vitaly Petrov was also not able to perform well at the Marina Bay street circuit. After starting the race from the 18th place and battling it out with his rivals, he finished his race in the 17th spot
in the end.
Let’s see how Senna and Petrov perform in the last five rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season after getting below par results from the Singapore race.
