Renault driver Bruno Senna wants 2012 race seat with the team – Formula 1 news
Renault driver Bruno Senna wants the race seat at his current team for the 2012 Formula 1 season.
Senna talked to the media and said that he has no contract with any team for the next F1 season, so at the moment his intention is to stay with Renault.
The team driver added that he is trying his hardest to stay at Renault for the next year.
The Brazilian discussed his races in the 2011 Formula 1 season with Renault and mentioned that it has been a very difficult season for him in terms of learning.
Senna commented, “I started in the middle and had to learn to use KERS and the moving wing (DRS), and the lack of experience and mileage impaired me a little.”
Apart from that, he stated Formula 1 is all about performance, and he is sure the team is happy with him.
He went on to mention, “It depends on (Robert) Kubica, on (Romain) Grosjean, on sponsorship, a lot of things that, unfortunately, are not under my control. We have to get all the factors coming together. The team isn’t going to wait until the middle of next
year to decide. I hope it doesn’t take too long.”
The 28-year-old driver has described the ongoing season as interesting. He took part for the Enstone-based outfit from the 2011 Belgian Grand Prix in place of Nick Heidfeld. He has driven the R31 car in seven rounds of the season so far and has learnt a
lot of things about it.
In the 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Senna was not able to show his better performance at the Yas Marina Circuit, as his competitors were faster as compared to him.
After starting the race from the 14th position on the grid, Senna ended up in the 16th spot after running on the sets of medium and soft tyres by Pirelli.
After completing seven rounds for the team in the season so far, Renault driver Senna is placed at the 18th position with 2 points in the 2011 drivers’ standings.
Let’s see how Senna performs at his homeland in the last round of the ongoing season scheduled to take place on November 27, 2011 at the Sao Paulo racetrack.
