Renault scenic.. Any good?

I currently have a renualt clio expression 1.2 16v 52 plate, which has caused me a lot of problems with the electrics since buying it. Im told this is a problem with most clio's.

Im going to sell/trade it in for a bigger car as I have 2 kids.

I really like the renualt scenics but am worried i might have the same problem again.. Has anyone else had electic problems with a scenic? Would you go for a different make of car altogether?

We run a couple of Scenics at work - one now 2 years old and the other less than a year. Our cars do in the region of 600 miles a week. Both have been 100% trouble free so far.

Hi Beth,

You obviously have the Mark 2 Clio, which are a common favourite for some unknown reason. But there is now actually a Mark 3 out, which is about 18 months old. Is also now available in an estate version, surprising for a small car I know.

The Renault Scenics are great cars, and are usually used by Mum's and children. But I would have one myself, and I'm 17, they are nice cars. The gear stick is dash mounted, as is the rest.

They are like a small Espace, but the espaces tend to have hidden controls, are longer, use more fuel, etc.

The Scenics are good for your back, because you do not have to bend down as much to enter or exit the car. They are available in 2 different versions. The standard scenic, and the grand version.

I can reccomend you test drive one now, they are good, but have been out for some time. There is now a more Sportier 4X4 version, so thats 3 versions if you count that.

The NCAP Safety rating are.

Adults - 5 Star

Children - 4 Star

Pedestrian - 2 Star

I had 3 scenics over the years and never had any problems.
