Renault’s Eric Boullier sure Bruno Senna will perform strongly in upcoming races – Formula 1 news
Renault boss Eric Boullier has said that he is sure they will receive better results from the team driver Bruno Senna in the rest of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Boullier added that they believe Senna will perform strongly on the grid in the upcoming race weekends following his positive 2011 Monza race held on Sunday, September 11, 2011 in Italy.
The Brazilian did not race in the 2010 Formula 1 season. However, the team boss appreciated Senna for his better performance in Italy recently. He added that despite having no experience from the last year, Senna did a great job at the Monza racetrack during
Sunday’s race.
After the 2011 Spa race, Senna raced for the Enstone-based outfit for the second time in the ongoing season at the Italian Grand Prix.
Boullier talked with Autosport.com and commented, “I expect him to keep progressing like this. I believe the more he will deliver like he is doing, the more confidence he will get and the more he will be able to deliver. He still has a lot of potential because
you could feel during the weekend that what he is doing or what he is saying, is definitely fitting well. He wants to do well. I expect him to challenge Vitaly.”
He went on to mention, “He is doing well and steadily progressing, so it is the best way I could have dreamed, to be honest. The strategy was not bad and we had some help with some retirements.”
Boullier further said that they are expecting Senna to challenge his teammate Vitaly Petrov in the rest of the 2011 campaign.
The 27-year-old driver ended his Monza race in the ninth spot behind Force India driver Paul di Resta, who came at the eighth position in the final race classifications in Italy.
Apart from that, the team boss added that the upgrades, which they had delivered to their R31 car for the Monza race, worked well throughout the race weekend.
Renault are happy with Senna’s performance in Italy, as he successfully completed his race in points for them.
Let’s see how he performs in the rest of the ongoing season following his ninth position in the 2011 Italian race weekend.
