Hamburg’s latest acquisition Rene Adler believes that he has recovered from his injury h**l, and is looking forward to the forthcoming season.
The goalkeeper recently completed his move to Hamburg after running down his contract at the Bayer Arena. He spent twelve years at the Leverkusen club, and was a product of their youth academy.
Adler went on to make 138 league appearances for the club, and established himself as a permanent fixture in Bayer Leverkusen’s starting line-up. He is one the highly-rated goalkeepers in the Bundesliga and was ranked after Manuel
Neuer. The 27-year old has made around ten appearances for his country.
Despite his immense talent, the goalkeeper’s career has been hampered by injuries. He suffered a knee injury in a pre-season game ahead of the 2010/2011 season. The Hamburg player was unable to recover from that niggling knee injury
and suffered a few set-backs, which kept him out for most of the last season.
Now after moving to the Northern http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 club, he will make his long awaited return from injury. Adler revealed that after spending almost a year on the sidelines, and eight months of rehabilitation, he is feeling 100 percent fit.
The 27-year old believes the injury h**l has certainly made him stronger, and he has learnt a lot from it.
“I am in great health and feel fully fit. I'm in the best possible condition. The injuries have subsequently proven to be positive. I've learned a lot during that time especially in terms of my mentality,” he is quoted as saying
in an interview.
Many experts questioned his decision to sign for Hamburg, a club that ended 16th in the Bundesliga last season. Adler insists that he made his decision purely on footballing reasons. He suggests the ones who doubt his
move should take a look at the HSV squad which is laden with quality.
“I have moved to Hamburg to be part of a new-look squad and a team with a lot of potential. You only have to look at the squad to know this team possess a huge amount of potential,” he added.
Adler will certainly be a great addition to a young and talented Hamburg side. The club are thought to be making a few high profile additions to their squad which will definitely help them finish in the top-half of the Bundesliga.
